Hey there, fellow veggie lovers! 🥕🍅🌽

Are you tired of feeling left out when your friends suggest a BBQ night? Well, I’ve got some good news for you! As a long-time vegetarian, I recently decided to dive into the world of barbecue restaurants, and boy, was I in for a treat! Today, I’m sharing my adventures at two popular BBQ chains: Absolute Barbecue and Barbeque Nation. Spoiler alert: Being veggie doesn’t mean missing out on all the fun!

The Vibe: Where’s the Party At?

Absolute Barbecue felt like a big, friendly cookout. Picture this: you’re sitting around a table with your buddies, laughing and chatting while you grill your own food. It’s super interactive, but heads up - you might need to keep an eye out for any stray meat bits on the shared grill if you’re strict about your veggie diet.

Barbeque Nation, on the other hand, was like having your own little BBQ party. Each table has its own grill, which is perfect if you’re a bit wary about mixing your veggies with meat. It felt more private, but still buzzing with energy.

The Food: Veggie Delights Galore!

Now, let’s talk about what really matters - the food!

At Absolute Barbecue, I was pleasantly surprised. They’ve really stepped up their veggie game! I tried some grilled cheese (yum!) and exotic veggie skewers that made me forget all about meat. The best part? Their “Wish Grill” where you can customize your dish. I felt like a veggie chef extraordinaire!

Barbeque Nation didn’t disappoint either. They had a wide variety of veggie options, not just for grilling but also starters and even live counters where they cook right in front of you. It was like a veggie wonderland!

The Yum Factor: How Good Was It Really?

Both places put effort into making sure us veggie folks don’t feel like an afterthought.

Absolute Barbecue surprised me with their creative marinades and sauces. They managed to make grilled veggies exciting - who knew that was possible?

Barbeque Nation had quantity on their side. So. Many. Options. But sometimes, I felt like they could push the envelope a bit more in terms of uniqueness.

Sweet Endings: Because Dessert is Important!

After all that grilling, my sweet tooth was calling.

Absolute Barbecue won my heart with some homemade desserts. There was this amazing mishti doi that tasted just like my grandma’s!

Barbeque Nation had a dessert counter that made my eyes pop. But I wish they had a few more creative veggie-friendly options.

The People: It’s All About Service

The staff can make or break your experience, right?

At Absolute Barbecue, the servers were like my BBQ buddies. They took time to explain all the veggie options and even helped me create some custom dishes.

Barbeque Nation’s staff was friendly too, but it felt a bit more rushed. Understandable, given how packed it usually is!

The Veggie Verdict

So, which one wins the veggie BBQ showdown?

Choose Absolute Barbecue if you:

  • Love getting involved in cooking your food
  • Enjoy trying innovative veggie dishes
  • Want a more personalised service

Go for Barbeque Nation if you:

  • Prefer a more structured dining experience
  • Like having tons of options to choose from
  • Enjoy a lively, bustling atmosphere

In the end, both places showed me that being vegetarian doesn’t mean missing out on the BBQ fun. Whether it’s the communal joy of Absolute Barbecue or the feast-like experience at Barbeque Nation, us veggies can now proudly take our place at the BBQ table. So grab your friends (veggie and non-veggie alike) and get grilling!

Cheers,
